I  Had a Phaeton when I was 17. Sold it because it had no hood (top that is!) and girls on dates objected to getting rained-on. Then I saw a yellow roadster for sale in Sanff Ave for 230 pounds – it looked immaculate inside, outside  and under – I  remember the suspension was painted body-colour yellow , unlike mine which had a thick layer of greasy grunge under it.   It was well out of the league of a poor student, so I said  “I will get one of those one day”.  I went out of my way to pass it every day until it was sold a few weeks later.      53 years later I have my own roadster,  a 1930 model. And  I still love the shape, the sound and the torque of that lovely old motor.      It reminds me of really old (proper!) hot-rods, which I also couldn’t afford back in the 60’s either.    And now the roadster has a younger sister – A 1931 Ruby-red Tudor, which will be back on the road very soon.  Diane bought it and named it RUBY31.  My Roadster is HJFORD.  2014-02-10 16.56  IMG_0431 (Custom)

I would love a coupe and a tow truck—— we will see!
